Short Description

Discover Egypt’s rich history on this 6-day tour. Explore Cairo’s iconic Pyramids, Sphinx, and Egyptian Museum, then journey to Alexandria to visit the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Qaitbay Citadel.

Itinerary

You will arrive at Cairo airport, meet and be assisted by our representative from Golden Pyramids Travel, and then transfer to your hotel.

Have your breakfast in the early morning at your hotel in Cairo, and then our tour guide will meet you to start your tour. Along with the pyramids of his son Khafre and grandson Minkaure, the Great Pyramid of Khufu is the only ancient wonder that remains intact. Also, visit the Great Sphinx; the guardian of the pyramids still does his job perfectly. Then, have your lunch at a local restaurant.

Next, you will move to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, one of the largest museums in the world. It includes more than 120 thousand archaeological pieces on display, and the rest are in storage.

The museum has two main floors, the ground floor and the first floor. On the ground floor, there are some coins and papyrus. There are also some artifacts from the New Kingdom. These items include statues and tables.

On the first floor, there are some artifacts from dynasties 29 and 30, with some items from the tombs of the Valley of the Kings, in particular the amazing treasure of King Tutankhamon. There are two special rooms containing several mummies.

Note: the mummies’ room has a private ticket.

Take a break to have your lunch at a local restaurant. You will go to Dahshur, which is famous for the Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid, which were constructed by King Snefru (2613-2589 BC), the father of Khufu (Cheops).

There is also a pyramid was built by Amenemhat II (1929–1895 BC), the 12th dynasty, which is now badly damaged. Several tombs of royal women were built there as well. King Senusret III built two pyramids there. The Black Pyramid was built by King Amenemhat III; it remains the most imposing monument at the site after the two Snefru pyramids.

Back to the hotel, overnight in Cairo.
