Next, we will head to Qaitbay Citadel, a large and interesting place located in Alexandria, Egypt. The castle was built in the fifteenth century by Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf al-Din Qayt Bey, and is located on the Mediterranean coast on the eastern side of Pharos Island, at the mouth of the eastern port.

Historically, the Library of Alexandria has been a very large and important library since ancient times. It was part of a larger research institution called Mouseion, which was dedicated to the Gods of the Nine Arts. The early idea for the Universal Library probably came from Demetrius Phalerum, an Athenian statesman exiled in Alexandria, but the library was formally built during the reign of Ptolemy II Philadelphus. The library quickly acquired many manuscripts thanks to the aggressive policies of the Ptolemaic kings and generous financial support.
